Our range of Abrasion Resistant Steel S500MC – High Yield Steel S500MC is a high strength hot rolled structural steel used for cold formed components. As S500MC is a load bearing steel, considerations regarding suitability need to be made at the procurement stage.
The material is used in a variety of applications including structural beams, frames and as cold rolled steel sections. The steel benefits from good weldability but heat treatment should be avoided as this is known to reduce the yield strength of the material.
