About S355 Common Steels S355JR
A structural grade (S) with at minimum yield strength of 355 N/mm²m, the JR designation confirms that the steel has undergone longitudinal Chary V-Notch impact testing at 27J (Joules) at room temperature. Other Charpy designations include JO, J2 and K2.
S355AR
A structural grade (S) with the same minimum yield strength of 355 N/mm²m, but supplied in an 'as rolled condition'.
S355KN2+N
As S355JR but Charpy tested at 40J (Joules) at -20°C and supplied in the normalised condition.
